These are the best things ever!! I don't like to use them t keep Evan from a dangerous situation- just to keep him in his room while he is supposed to be sleeping. The battle is over and I won. I only purchased them about 3 hours ago, but I am already so happy.

We can't forget about Evan. It's funny- with 2 kids (1 being a newborn) I pretty much feel like 1 is being neglected at all times. Evan was used to getting all my attention and now he has to totally share it, which he seems completely fine with. It's me who is needing some adjusting. Evan is pictured here with some of his favorite things- his blanket (all time favorite thing). He also loves balls and pushing things around on the floor. This cute little trash can is a huge improvement to the loud chairs.

What a raggamuffin!! I just love that bottom picture- crazy hair, funny face. How could you not love waking up to that (or in my case continuing to be up)? I felt like he was looking a bit neglected so he got his first paid for haircut. It was pretty fun. He looked so cute sitting in the chair with his cape on and eating a sucker. MMMM a sucker with newly cut hair falling on it. Well having two kids is kind of crazy, but we are adjusting. We even went to the store today. YEA!!!

Chase is here!!! Evan has just been so dang sweet with him. He wants to share with him and help take care of him. I am so glad that Mom is here. Evan just absolutely loves to be with her and she has already been such a big help. I am just scared for the day she leaves. Chase has been a sweet little guy himself for his first 36 hours. Stockings

I made these stockings myself. Well with a lot of help from Melissa actually. It was so fun to do my first ever sewing project with her. I have a long ways to go, but I am actually pretty proud of my work. I thought that I would never ever learn to sew. It was great to learn something new and it's always fun to make stuff. Santa came to town!

Well clearly he wasn't thrilled to be sitting on Santa's (who looked to be about 16 yrs old) lap, but it was a fun visit to the park and he walked away with a little goodie bag so you can't complain too much. I just really love that Santa comes right to the neighborhood.

Toddler Bed "Fun"

Little Evan guy now sleeps in a toddler bed. . . . . well at night. He goes to bed just perfectly at night. He does not get up one single time. Well he has done it for 3 nights now anyway. He will not take a nap in it though. Day one he fell asleep at his closed bedroom door and day 2 he didn't go to sleep at all after being in there for over an hour. He doesn't throw a huge fit or anything. He just knocks on his door and kind of cries a little. The knocking is pretty funny! Well hopefully he will get the hang of it soon and return to the days of 3 hour long naps that he was taking just days ago.

He's got his game face on here. I thought it might be kind of dumb to take him trick or treating since he's only one, but I felt like a boring mom to do nothing. We threw this costume together and we were on our way. He actually caught right on and loved it. He did such a good job carrying his bucket and even managed to say a version of trick or treat. We only went to like 3 houses, but he got a pretty nice stash. It was actually really fun. Yeah- it's warm enough here for him to go shirtless.

Pumpkin Patch

I am really not good at blogging. I post a few pictures and write a little bit. That's just what I do though so oh well. I don't see it changing. Here is Evan at the pumpkin patch. It's a pretty cute place to take pictures and Evan had fun running around and riding the train. Melissa has some really good pictures on her blog from the big event.

Evan and I were able to go visit my parents and other fam for a week. It was a really great trip. It's important for little kids to get to spend a good amount of time with their grandparents especially since it takes some time to get to know eachother again. We had so much fun and we want to do it every year. This is just a picture of Evan with some of the goods he brought back from the land of enchantment.

Evan loves salsa. He likes to dip his chips himself. Then he'll either just suck the salsa off or go ahead and eat the chip along with it. Note- you may want to think twice before eating the salsa here. His double dipping is just not pretty.

We went grocery shopping the other day and while we were in the store it started to rain so hard. We finished up and did not want to wait so we braved the weather and got completely soaked. It was like I had jumped in a pool- seriously. It was actually kind of fun because Evan thought it was pretty funny. He was having a great time!

Evan's new game

I left Aaron and Evan home for a couple of hours and when I came back they showed me this new activity they came up with. Well, that Aaron came up with. It actually makes me nervous of course, but Evan sure thinks it's fun. He gets some pretty good speed. We may need to get him a helmet soon.

Here we are heading to the pool. I pulled Evan and Trevor behind me on my bike- not an easy task! The two little guys had a lot of fun, mostly on the splash pad.
As you can see Evan was very excited to have cake. He was already reaching for it when we were just blowing out the sombrero candle.
He pretty much could not have been happier. I gave him a pretty large piece in hopes that he would just make a huge mess. He managed to make a pretty good mess, but also got a surprising amount eaten as well.

We had so much fun celebrating his first birthday with our Houston family.

So Evan really loves lemons I guess. We went to out to dinner kind of late the other night so it was a little difficult to keep Evan guy happy, but he just reached for the lemon. He was actually biting into it. Gross! It was pretty funny. The past couple of days he has been looking so big to me and saying some words. It's really crazy/fun. He really is just so much fun and brings added happiness to our home for sure.

Wow- Evan was such a good helper yesterday. NOT! He sure was crackin me up though. It was like he couldn't get to the dirt fast enough. He loved it! When I would attempt to get a stick or rock out of his mouth he would just laugh and laugh. He made my chore of weeding a lot more fun. He is one silly little boy.

It is starting to get really hot here. You know- the kind of hot where you immediately start to sweat upon stepping out the door. FUN! We are so glad that we have the neighborhood pool so that we can cool off a little. Evan loves it so we have lot of fun! Check out that cute little body (Evan's not Aaron's)!

Finally. . . . . waterskiing!

We finally got to go waterskiing. It is one of Aaron's VERY favorite things to do and we had never gone together. Aaron's dental assistant is a serious skiier and she took us along after work on Thursday to some private lake in College Station. I had never waterskiied before and we all just had the best time. Evan even enjoyed being out on the boat in his sweet life jacket. He had a little nap while riding around on the boat. It was so fun to see Aaron doing something he loves so much. He had a huge smile the whole time he was on the water. I wasn't going to try skiing because everyone there was SO good, but then I thought that I should not pass up the opportunity for such fun. I went and I loved it. I even stayed up for quite a while. . . .I promise. We are so glad that we were able to go and really had tons of fun!

1st haircut

Evan had his first haircut on Sunday. Melissa was nice enough to cut it. It is quite a task to cut the hair on a 10 month old. He didn't come anywhere near sitting still so we are very thankful that she did it, and that I didn't have to. She did a great job!! I won't have to make him wear a hat anymore. Just kidding- his hair wasn't that bad. I just like the hat, but he won't keep it on anyway.

We were lucky enough to come across a shuttleboard area that had equipment available for our use. We asked the elderly couple nearby how to score and we were ready to go. Here we are at the beach. I had never been to Florida so it was great to see a new place. We walked along the beach a few times a day. That's just how Aaron got to his class. I put Evan's feet in the water once and he lifted them right up and started crying a little. Sure it was cold, but he had to get them in there one time. Grandma's orders.

At Evan's six month appointment he measured 29 1/2 inches tall/long and weighed 20 pounds. I think the scale was off though because he's heavy! It was funny because they were all saying that 20 was a lot and I was thinking it would have been higher. "Twenty, that's it?"

Burnt Cookies

I was SO mad today - as you can probably see. I burnt a batch of cookies, which I just hate to do. You are so close to that sweet goodness and then after just losing your focus for a moment your chances of enjoying some warm and gooey cookies are gone. I made the mistake of calling the water company while they were in the oven. Dang it!

I was happy to see that I had enough dough to make a few more cookies. A second chance. Victory. This time I made wise decisions while they were baking and stayed aware of them throughout all 8 minutes of bake time. I called the trash company this time, but they are not quite as talkative. It is essential to stay focused on only the most important tasks. Needless to say all 6 cookies that survived will be gone by the time Aaron gets home from work.

Stroller Rides

Evan just loves to go for stroller rides. It's one of our daily activities. He just kicks up his little feet and we're off. It actually feels good outside now so we are enjoying the outdoors, which he always loves anyway.

We have moved to Houston! We are in the process of buying a house in Cypress. We'll be able to move in on the 21st. We sure are excited. Aaron has started his new job and really likes it so far ( he has gone 2 days). Looks like we're here to stay a while. We have been staying with the HaeHae's, which we are really grateful for and have been having a lot of fun getting to spend time with them.
